It is easy to see that natural health supplements cause almost no danger yet are most rigorously legislated to the point that criminal charges, large fines and imprisonment can  be levied against manufacturers who breach TGA regulations. These new laws have come into effect by virtue of the recently convened Committee on Complementary Medicines...This was in the aftermath of PAN which in fact had a manufacturing problem relative to a pharmaceutical drug, dimenhydrinate (Travelcalm).

So why the committee, why the imprisonment, why the hefty fines, why the heavy hand....to protect the pharmaceutical industries market share of course!
